A surviving section of Kraków’s ghetto wall, shaped – intentionally – as tombstones.
The plaque refers to the Jewish inmates ‘living, suffering and dying at the hands of the Nazis.’ 15,000 Jews would be confined behind these walls, in an area previously housing 3,000.
The building behind also dates from the ghetto period.
